Wiz Khalifa has been sentenced to nine months in jail by a Romanian court after smoking cannabis on stage at the Beach, Please! festival in 2024 and not just a fine this time.
He was originally fined 3,600 Romanian lei £620 for illegal cannabis possession after the performance, where police said he had about 18 g of cannabis and smoked it live. Prosecutors appealed that fine, and the appeals court upgraded it to a prison sentence of 9 months, saying his actions could normalise illegal drug use among young fans.
Wiz Khalifa later said he “didn’t mean any disrespect” and joked he’d return “without a big ass joint next time.”
